Leaving a review here because I'm a die hard fan of MXTX  and all her works. This is a work of art, and it's a very interesting novel, i have all five volumes, but I will always support Wangxian whenever, or wherever I see it because Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji story is so beautiful that I can't get over it. 🫶🫶

So far it's a bit rushed and some parts of the story don't make sense, but it seems to me that this novel has good potential (especially as the author gains more experience), which, together with an author who seems to know how to receive and filter criticism well, makes me think that it might not take long for him to gain experience and that he probably won't abandon this work (at least not anytime soon). In any case, it's not a waste of time to read (even with some of those exaggerated and sometimes somewhat forced Chinese cliches) and I believe that with the addition of chapters it might be something worth adding to your library and reading over time (it's up to you). Despite everything, my meter is closer to decent (for now).

I push the door open and a light bell rings from the inside. I was greeted by a curious amalgam of talc, hair products and coffee. You ever smell the scent from an old book, or an empty library, or a gasoline tank right after you refuel? It's the same thing. It sucks you in. Or rather, you suck it in. Michael was nowhere in sight so I sat on a chair, waiting for him to appear. As the air-conditioner swings past, the smell returns and I could only flinch in return. God, I just love it. I know it's supposed to be irrelevant, but I come here each time and each time I do, I smell the heck out of the room.

                 "Calm down! I met up with you ever since you came in. I've been talking to you for a while now… don't tell me you weren't listening."
